The Black Horse Hotel will be closing its doors on Saturday 9th September.
The small family run inn and Thame’s only late night venue, dates as far back as 1620.
On a Facebook post last night the landlady’s daughter announced that it has been purchased by Raymond Blanc’s White Brasserie company.
The White Brasserie company describe their pubs as “warm and welcoming” and “French Brasserie food with an English twist”
Emma Davis said: “So our beautiful Facebook friends and colleagues, we would like to put you straight on the rumours surrounding The Black Horse. As you know my mum has been the landlady here for over 20 years, and trust me it’s not been easy!! She’s given blood, sweat and tears to the place, and we’ve all got good and bad memories.
We have decided that The Black has run its course and it’s definitely coming to the end of an era.
People will have good and bad things to say, but me and mum amd the team are used to it so it’s water off a ducks back!
The pub has been purchased by Mr. Raymond Blanc and it will become part of The White Brasserie.
The plans for the place are absolutely stunning and although we’re so sad to leave it’s exciting for the building to have the face lift that it so desperately needs. So on that note and in true Black Horse style ……
and in honour of my mums 20 year reign we would like to invite EVERYONE to our closing night.
Our actual last trading date which is
SATURDAY 9th SEPTEMBER for our farewell celebrations.
From 8.30 until late let’s go out with a bang”
