The town of Thame is set to honour the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day with a series of special commemorative events on Thursday, 8 May. Organised by the Royal British Legion, the day will pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the Second World War generation, celebrating the freedoms secured through their efforts. The day’s programme will begin at 11:00am with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Thame War Memorial Gardens, offering the community an opportunity to reflect on those who gave their lives in service.
