Please be aware the Thame Youth Memorial is undergoing refurbishment for the next 6 weeks which commenced on Friday 12 April 2024.
On Friday 10 May 2024, the parking area (4-spaces) and pavement will be closed to enable a work compound and protect pedestrians walking around the area. The parking/resident parking will be suspended during this time.
There will be fencing signposting pedestrians around the area as shown on the map above.
This important work is to refurbish the Thame Youth Memorial by replacing the paving stones around the area to enable an easier to clean, anti-slip surface whilst blending into the Memorial Gardens. Another important aspect of the renovation is to carry out cleaning and preparation of the granite memorial stone engravings, ready for a revised method of painting to improve the legibility and longevity of the text.
