Tuesday’s council meeting was a very warm meeting. The Mayor, Cllr Gilbert was delighted to announce the fundraising totals for the Mayor’s Charities for 2025/2026 with the Red Kite Family Centre and Thame Youth Projects each receiving £9,000.00.
The Mayor announced that during his Mayoral Year this year (2026/27) he would be fundraising for the Thame Senior Friendship Centre (including Memories Café) and Thame Community and Youth Centre Project.
Matters which were discussed included:
- Planning Application P26/S0179/FUL at Diagnostic Re-agents Ltd, Chinnor Road, Thame - the council objected to the amended plans on this planning application.
- Thame’s County Councillors, Cllr Edwards and Cllr Gregory, attended the meeting to discuss Local Government Reorganisation with Thame forming part of the newly created Ridgeway Council.
- Strategy for Thame 2050 - Councillors provided feedback on the drafted document.
- Community Governance Review was discussed and the agreed response approved to support SODC’s proposed boundary ward arrangements.
- Members approved the appointment of a contractor to undertake path resurfacing in Cuttle Brook Nature Reserve using Section 106 funding.
- Members received an update regarding Project Link.
- Risk Management and Code of Corporate Governance policies were approved.
