A team of #PeopleofAction from Thame Wombles and Rotary Phoenix has completed a PlasticBlitz survey at the Scotgrove Stream in the morning of Saturday 17 September 2022. Two bags of waste, mainly plastic and metal, were collected.
However, the majority of the two hours was taken by the clearance of massive branches of dead wood which were blocking the stream. This will hopefully reduce the likelihood of flooding in the area. There are still fallen trees over the stream which can be cut with chain saws. Anyone who has got the skills and the will to carry out this work should get in touch with Thame Wombles or Rotary Phoenix Thame and District.
There are over 40 groups from #rotary and other organisations performing PlasticBlitz in the Thames Valley, across river Thames and its tributaries, between 17 and 25 September. The events have been conducted with guidance from Thames 21 and #Rotary Thames Valley District.
