Thame United U12s team who were the Winners in their age group at the Thame Festival of Football recently, also became Runners Up at the Aston Clinton Colts tournament at the weekend. Both are great results and underscore the quality of the U12s given the quality of teams at these well organised and respected tournaments.
At the Aston Clinton Colts Tournament, Thame United, sponsored by local law firm, B P Collins, powered through their groups, before overcoming West London’s Barnes Eagles FC in the Semi-Final. Thame lost a tight final to another team from the capital, London Colney Colts. Tim Field, one of the Thame United U12s coaches said, “To get to the final in tournaments which draw top teams from across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and London, is a fantastic achievement by all involved and bodes well for the future. We are looking forward to next season. Thank you again to B P Collins for its support."
