Thame United 1 - 2 Kidlington

The Red Kites entertained Kidlington at the ASM stadium in the Pitching In Southern League Central Division 1 tie. There was a good crowd for this bank holiday Oxfordshire derby.

Due to the quick turnaround of games, Manager Ben Williams made a number of changes after the outing at Barton on Saturday. Eric Mafuta replaced Pelumi Maxwell, Steve Ajuda made his first league start replacing Jordan Jenkins. Lewis Cross and Ezra Forde replaced Harry Williams and Ben Kakembo who dropped to the bench. The afternoon got off to a bad start for the home team with keeper Fred Chapman limping out of the warm up, being replaced by new signing Archie Davis.

The first half got under way with the visitors on the front foot with several long balls over the top of the Thame defence putting the back four under pressure. As the game progressed Thame came into the game and created several chances Lewis Cross had the ball in the net but was flagged offside, Harry Alexander and Wiktor Makowski and shots saved by the kidlington keeper. But has the half progressed Kidlington started to dominate play and although Thame had a couple of break away chances The away team took the lead on 27 Minutes. Conor Ferguson picking up the ball in the 18 yard box and firing the ball across the keeper into the net. Kidlington doubled their lead on 39 minutes when a long ball caught out the home team defence and a mix up with the keeper allowed Conor Ferguson to score his Second of the game.
