Isuzu FA Trophy First Qualifying Round Thame United Vs Badshot Lea
Thame United bowed out of the Isuzu Trophy after a disappointing under par display in this first round qualifying match at the ASM stadium against Badshot Lea from Surrey.
From the last outing against Kidlington the manager Ben Williams made a number of changes. At the back Steve Ajunua, dropped out and was replaced by Jordan Jenkins, in midfield Pierce McNamara and Lewis Cross dropped out for Kian Wilkes and returning from injury captain Ollie Hogg. Upfront Alfie Anderson came in for Harry Alexander who dropped to the bench.
Under difficult conditions with the temperature nearing 30 degrees, the visitors quickly settled into the game, passing the ball around and causing all sorts of problems down both wide areas, with Thame resulting in the long ball and counter attack. After constant pressure on 21 minutes Badshot opened the score from a corner, 3 minutes later it was two following a break on the right hand side. The visitors were 3 - 0 up after 29 minutes, dangerous winger Lamin Ceesay bagging his second of the game. Thame struggled to produce anything from an attacking point and the half ended 3 - 0 to Badshot, a deserved lead.
