A THAME opticians is sponsoring a local bowls club for the second year in a row as part of its ongoing support for the community.
Sponsorship from the Specsavers' store, a locally owned and run business on the High Street, will help Thame Bowls Club with daily running costs, ground maintenance and support for its teams.
With a membership of around 200 and a clubhouse used by a variety of local groups, the support from Specsavers Thame will also help benefit many areas of the community. The club celebrated its centenary two years ago and welcomes new members on a regular basis.
Peter Gibbons from Thame Bowls Club says the support from local businesses was vital to keeping the club going. 'Sponsorship is one of the life bloods of our club so we are extremely grateful to Specsavers Thame for providing this continuing support.'
Specsavers Thame store director, Nishita Chauhan, says: 'We’re committed to supporting our community here in the town and are delighted to provide ongoing sponsorship for the bowls club, which has a thriving membership and clubhouse used by many local groups.'
