Thame Museum is dedicated to telling the Story of Thame through its collections, including wall paintings and other artefacts of national significance. The museum also has an active programme of talks and exhibitions through the year and is run entirely by volunteers.
Thame Museum is looking for new trustees to join its board - candidates with a legal background are especially welcomed.
The minimum level of commitment can be summarised as quarterly trustee meetings (usually lasting a couple of hours) and maybe a couple more meetings during the year depending on activities requiring trustee sign-off, etc. In addition, there is a small amount of email review/response required, with the potential of approving activities being discussed outside the regular quarterly meetings.
Trustees with a legal background could be very helpful with tasks such as reviewing contracts prior to signature, or getting involved in managing employment-type issues, and other such matters. The time involved might be just a few hours a month.
Trustees can also become more involved in day-to-day activities as a volunteer, should that be of interest.
