THAME AND DISTRICT LIONS CLUB

The Thame and District Lions Club are proud to be part of the world’s largest service club organization, Lions International.

Founded on June 7, 1917, the Lions have become renowned for both integrity and transparency and, with over 46,000 Lions Clubs, and more than 1.4 million members in over 200 countries (and geographic areas) worldwide, they are one of the more effective organisations in doing whatever is needed to help their local communities.

The Thame club was established in 1977 and consist of men and women from all walks of life who are dedicated to helping their community.

By holding regular fundraising events, we are able to assist the local community with donations, assistance or much needed equipment.

You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space.
