Thame care home toasts key milestone with country and western part

14th October 2024

A care home in Thame has saddled up and pulled out all the stops to mark a special anniversary.

It was party time at Care UK’s Cuttlebrook Hall, on Stock Road, as residents, team members and the community came together to celebrate the home’s first birthday, throwing a country and western themed party.

On the day, team members organised a host of musical entertainment to get everyone’s toes tapping, including a pianist, a special Musical Moments session and a sing-along with local entertainer, Tony Performer. In keeping with the rootin’-tootin’ theme, the home was suitably decorated ranch-style and provided themed snacks including barbecue sweetcorn and chicken in hot sauce.

To celebrate the milestone occasion, the team at Cuttlebrook Hall gave gifts to the home’s first residents. Adding to the festivities was a fun visit from a petting zoo, with residents and guests able to spend time with donkeys, sheep and goats in the garden.

Alana Corr, Home Manager at Cuttlebrook Hall, said: “We were delighted to welcome visitors to Cuttlebrook Hall as we celebrated our first birthday alongside residents. We had a fantastic time partying in true Cuttlebrook Hall fashion – with plenty of music and dancing!

“The past year has been filled with wonderful moments for everyone at the home, residents and team members alike, and we have no plans to slow down as we look ahead to creating more memorable experiences for residents in the next year, and beyond.

“I’d like to extend a huge thank you to our dedicated team for making Cuttlebrook Hall a wonderful place to call home. This was certainly a birthday to remember!”

Cuttlebrook Hall is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, dementia and short-term respite care. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes a cinema, hair salon and café.

2nd Carwithen Music Festival 2025 @ Haddenham
The second “Carwithen Music Festival” will continue the celebration and legacy of Doreen Carwithen’s music, in the village of Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, where she was born. It will also continue to explore the connections between Doreen and other male/female composers of the time. Dr Leah Broad’s book “Quartet”, published by Faber, and now the deserved winner of a Royal Philharmonic Society award, is the first book to celebrate Doreen’s life alongside other influential female composers. Leah will be at the festival to sign copies of her book and to narrate Friday night’s concert (July 11th) which features some wonderful music analysed in the book. The Festival will again consider “Carwithen Connections”, where almost every piece of music performed will have some connection with Doreen or her family. This…
