As autumn deepens and Bonfire Night approaches, here’s your one-stop guide to all the major fireworks displays happening around Thame this year (2025). 🎆 Thomley’s Reduced Sound Fireworks Display

Date & Time: Saturday 25 October, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Extra details: The display is “reduced sound,” meaning the fireworks are selected for visual impact rather than loud bangs, to be more inclusive for those sensitive to noise.
Doors open earlier (from 5pm) for family activities.
Tickets / cost:

  • £26 per family (2 adults + 2 children)
  • £9 for single tickets
  • 10% discount available for members (contact organiser for code)
    Advance booking is required (tickets via Thomley website)
    Extras: Ear defenders available; indoor viewing option in the pavilion; lanterns; food & drink stalls including pizzas, hot dogs, candy floss, etc.

🎆 Brill Fireworks

Date & Time: Friday 1 November, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm (display starts ~7pm; gates open from 5pm)
Location: Brill Playing Fields
Details & attractions:

  • Lantern parade from The Pheasant
  • Samba Band performance
  • Food & entertainment: Caribbean food, Snax of India, hot dogs, burger van, 2 Guyz Pizza, amusements, and plate-shy games

🎆 Mill Lane School Fireworks

Date & Time: Friday 7 November, gates open 6:00 pm, main display ~7:30 pm
Location: Mill Lane School Field, Chinnor
Theme / entertainment: This year’s show is themed “Through the Decades,” with fireworks choreographed to music from different eras.
Other attractions include food & bar areas, a glo-stick stall, etc.
Tickets / cost: £7 per person; children aged 2 and under free
Note: tickets must be booked in advance (not available at gate)
Safety: children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult


🎇 Long Crendon School Fireworks Night

Date: Saturday 8 November Gates and Refreshments from 4:45pm 
Location: Long Crendon School
Details: The evening will feature a full fireworks display, live music, food vans, beer and mulled wine stalls, and family entertainment.
Tickets / cost:

  • Adults: £7
  • Children: £4.50
  • Advance tickets recommended; last year’s event sold out.

🎆 Thame Fireworks Display

Date & Time: Saturday 8 November, gates open 4:00 pm; children’s entertainment from ~4:30pm; fireworks begin around 6:30 pm
Location: Chinnor RFC, Thame
Purpose / beneficiaries: This is a fundraising event: ticket proceeds go to three local primary schools — Barley Hill, John Hampden, and St. Joseph’s.
Extras & atmosphere: Food & drink, community gathering, children’s entertainer, plus time before the display to enjoy the social atmosphere.
