On Wednesday afternoon at 16:30 a crew from Thame Fire Station and Rewley Road Fire Station were mobilised to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Thame Road, Kingsey.
On arrival crews were faced with one vehicle on its roof with the driver trapped and another vehicle with two people that had already got out of their vehicle.
Ambulance crews assessed the trapped driver of the overturned vehicle whilst crews quickly stabilised it and worked hard to gain access using hydraulic cutting tools. The driver was then released and taken to hospital by South Central Ambulance Service before the incident was handed over to Thames Valley Police.
Incident Commander CM Bullen said “It's really important to make sure you are constantly aware of your surroundings and the road ahead. Even careful drivers can be distracted by a phone call, text message, in car technology or a Satnav. A split-second lapse of concentration could result in a crash. Also, at this time of year the roads can still be wet so it’s important to drive according to the conditions.”
