Fire crews from Thame and Aylesbury Fire Stations responded to a road sweeper fire in Thame earlier today, successfully bringing the blaze under control.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus (BA) tackled the flames using hose reels from Thame’s P1 fire engine. The Thame crew remained on-site after extinguishing the fire to monitor the area and ensure the situation was fully resolved before declaring the incident closed.
A video capturing the fire before crews arrived, recorded by a member of the public, has drawn attention to the swift and effective response by the fire teams. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Local authorities praised the professionalism of the crews in handling the situation. Residents are reminded to report such incidents immediately and to avoid the affected area to allow emergency services to work without obstruction.
