RESULT: Thame Utd 7 - 2 FC Romania
It was quite the night at the ASM Stadium this evening as the Red Kites came from 2-0 down to record an emphatic 7-2 win.
The early stages of the game didn't suggest such a win as two sloppy goals saw FC Romania leading 2-0 and with the rain lashing down it looked like it could be a long bleak night.
However, immediately after conceding the second it was clear that this Thame side were not about to throw in the towel. The response started with a Jefferson Louis header, then Jack Gardner fired us level before Dan West steered home from close range to give us a 3-2 lead at half-time.
The second half saw Greg Hackett almost immediately make it 4-2 before West scored again to make it 5-2.
The rain had eased by this time but not the goals. Greg Hackett squared unselfishly for Louis to grab his second before the same combination saw an excellent cross headed home to give Louis his hat-trick.
A fine performance from the players and we have a weekend off before a trip to Berkhamsted.
