In an apt collaboration, Dulux Decorator Centre provided the paint needed to complete the workshop in the Thame Shed – Oxfordshire’s new hub for DIY lovers.
Over the past few years, we have all come to value our community even more, with the importance of togetherness and mental wellbeing amplified over the lockdown periods. Helping to bring a little more community spirit to Oxfordshire is the Thame Shed project – an initiative set up to provide a safe, homely environment to pursue practical interests.
Opened on the 5th October, the large shed is a space where DIY-loving members can share tools, resources and expertise to work on projects. Inspired by the wider ‘Men in Sheds’ national movement, the shed is open to anyone willing to share practical skills, learn from others or simply be in the company of likeminded people.
Dulux Decorator Centre helped bring the shed to life with a donation of Armstead Trade Vinyl Matt paint, which was used by contractor DSDecor to coat the interior of the shed’s workshop. This paint offers professional quality and high opacity, meaning it minimises surface imperfections to deliver a standout matt finish.
Adam Domah, Store Manager at Dulux Decorator Centre Aylesbury, helped with the supply of the paint and is proud to be representing Dulux Decorator Centre at the opening of the Thame Shed. “Spaces like these have become all the more important over the past few years, and we’re delighted to have had a helping hand in getting the Thame Shed up and running,” Domah explains. “The Armstead Trade Vinyl Matt was an excellent choice for decorating the interior of the shed, helping the walls stay in great condition for longer, allowing the space to continue serving the community for years to come.”
Mike Ashford, President of the Thame Shed, thanks Dulux Decorator Centre for its donation: “We are so thankful to the Dulux Decorator Centre team for their generosity. One of the fundamental values of the Thame Shed is collaboration, so it feels incredibly fitting that we were able to work with the Aylesbury store team to help make the shed everything we wanted it to be.”
The Thame Shed is based at Chinnor Rugby Club in Thame, Oxfordshire, and will be officially opened following a ceremony on Wednesday 5th October by the President of the Rugby Club.
