Freddie van Mierlo, the MP for Henley and Thame, appeared at The Players Theatre, Thame on Wednesday 30th September, raising money for the local charity Sharing Life Trust.
Freddie talked about his background growing up in Lancashire, his university education, and his work as a consultant to healthcare companies and patient groups, which gave him valuable insight into health systems and the issues they face. He discussed the reasons why he has enjoyed living in Oxfordshire and his work following his election as a Liberal Democrat MP in 2024.
He answered questions about how he sees the future developing, both locally and farther afield, and how we can all contribute to improve our environment and way of life. He discussed issues that he has been involved with, including Thames Water, the plans for the Thame to Haddenham Greenway, and responded to concerns raised by a resident about the use of NHS data by the American software company Palantir.
He emphasised his commitment to work for the constituency as his primary focus, and that he is keen to hear about the concerns of local residents.
