23rd September 2024

Just a week to go until this year's Thame Food Festival!

Taking place over the weekend of the 28th and 29th September at Thame Showground. The Festival returns with Matty Edgell - winner of the last year's Great British Bake Off headlining the Big Cookery Stage. Alongside a new feature The Wine Studio hosted by Jane Rakison - presenter, writer and author, best known as the wine expert on BBC1's Saturday Kitchen Live.

This year's Big Cookery Stage sponsored by local recruitment company Downtown Recruitment, will also feature Dan Hunter, GBB0 2023 finalist alongside several familiar faces.  In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to embark on a tantalizing journey through wine at festival's Wine Studio thanks to Churchill Auctions and Be Upstanding Marquees. Under the expert guidance of our esteemed host Jane Rakison, a variety of exquisite wines will be explored as people learn about their unique characteristics.

Within the entrance fee, the festival will also feature a variety of interactive FREE activities, including:

You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
