It's Budget Time

15th August 2024

Thame Town Council has started work on setting its budget for 2025-26 and would like your input as to where the town's money should be spent.

The average Thame household (i.e. Band D) currently contributes £3.83 per week (through the precept portion of Council Tax) towards the funding of all the projects, functions, and services that Thame Town Council provides for the residents of Thame and the village of Moreton.

In the 2024-25 budget, funds earmarked for Thame helped facilitate events such as Taste of Thame, the Thame Art Crawl, and Town Awards.

We helped deliver projects through the Thame Green Living Plan; maintained children's playgrounds, Cuttle Brook, the Town Hall, and other public assets; contributed funds to the Red Kite Family Centre, Thame Youth Projects, Thame Senior Friendship Centre, and Citizens Advice; and provided allotments, making two new sites available by 2025.

So, how would you like Thame's money to be spent in 2025-26?

Would you like more or less money spent on building maintenance, the Information Centre, town and park maintenance works, local organisations, town events, or the environment? We would love to know your thoughts.

Email Thame Town Council and have a say about where Thame's money should be spent.

Death Cafe @ Thame Barns Centre
You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
