Four new trees have been planted in planters in Thame town centre, bringing additional greenery and helping to create more shaded spaces for people to enjoy.
The trees will provide shade as they grow, helping to make the town centre more comfortable during warmer weather. They will also contribute to urban biodiversity and help Thame adapt to the impacts of climate change.
The trees were supplied by Haddenham Garden Centre and the project was partially funded by Community Action Groups (CAGPOL), with support from Oxfordshire County Council through a Community Resilience grant.
The project will continue in spring 2027, when low-growing plants will be planted around the base of each tree to add further greenery and biodiversity.
