SGN are replacing old metal gas mains and services with new plastic pipe in the area. The work is considered essential to ensure the area continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.
The contractor, Direct Mole Ltd, who will be completing this project on behalf of SGN, will start work on 3 January 2023 for approximately six weeks.
Engineers will start work in Meadow Way for approximately four weeks, before starting work on Aylesbury Road and North Street on 9 January.
There will be a need to install temporary multi way signals in Aylesbury Road to the roundabout with North Street to enable safe passage of traffic.
There will also be work in Queens Close from 30 January. There will be a need to close the road for approximately two weeks.
SGN will be writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of the project and explain the details of the work.
