18th March 2024

Chinnor 80 Bishop’s Stortford 10

Chinnor produced a dazzling performance to score 80 points at home for the second successive time.
Playing with pace, power and precision Chinnor started the game with a bang and in 3 minutes Clementson was on hand to take an inside pass from a break from the irrepressible Worboys. Clementson eventually scored 3 as Chinnor showcased their all round ability.Bishop’s responded immediately and kicked a straightforward penalty to narrow the lead to 5-3.

Chinnor then responded in lethal manner as they ran in 6 further tries in the next 30 minutes. Combining the physicality of the forwards with skilful and powerful running from the outside backs, Carter and Worboys pulled the strings with accomplished aplomb.

Clementson and Hughes showed their power running and intelligent support lines to score tries and Goss showed his class to beat several defenders and dive into the corner

Feeney’s long kicking gave Chinnor a continuous Platform and Curry’s dominance in the lineout gave Walker a chance to notch another try to give Chinnor a commanding 45-3 lead at half time.

Chinnor carried on with their intent in the second half as they continued to attack from all areas.

A commanding scrummage saw Captain Willie Ryan charge over from 29 metres as he bullocked his way through the midfield defence.

Substitute George Stokes then joined the party and ran in from 30 metres before Clementson scored his hat trick and Morgan Passman barrelled over from 2 metres.

The visitors showed their fighting spirit to score their first try before a huge scrum from Chinnor ended in a penalty try and a 80-10 win.
