Changes to parking on East Street and Wykeham Park in Thame

OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS - SOUTH OXFORDSHIRE) (MAP BASED) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION No.) ORDER 20

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order is to introduce permit holders parking on sections of East Street and Wykeham Park in Thame, as follows:

1) Proposed Residents Permit Holder only parking areas – Thame (TH) Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm:
(a) East Street north side between the property boundary of No. 6/7 and the vehicular access to No.17
(b) Wykeham Park both sides of the whole road from the junction with East Street.
2) Eligible properties:
Residents of properties in the following roads will be able to apply for annual
Residents and Visitors Parking Permits. A local identifier of TH will be shown on permits and on road signage at the entry points to those areas. Properties are eligible to apply (other than those with off-street parking) in:
(a) East Street - north side: from and including No.4 to No.17; south side: between and including No.53 to No.70;
(b) Wykeham Park - both sides: all properties between and including No.43 to 54
4) Residents permits:
Will be limited to one per resident with a maximum of two permits per property. A resident may obtain a temporary permit for a replacement vehicle while their permanent vehicle is off the road.
5) Visitors permits:
Will be available for residents at eligible addresses, usually a maximum of 50 days' worth of permits will be issued per year and provided in blocks of 25. A temporary resident will be entitled to 25 visitors permits.
6) Charges:
(a) for residents permits per property will be £100 per annum.
(b) Visitors permits for residents aged 70 or over will be free of charge. For other residents the first block of 25 visitors permits will be free and the second block of 25 permits will be charged at £31.50.
(c) Contractors may apply for a permit to use a parking place at a charge of £31.50 for any period not exceeding a week.
7) Other Matters:
(a) A permit may be withdrawn if found to be granted based on false information, or a permit has not been used in accordance with the provisions of the Order or where it has been abused. This may result in suspension of eligibility for further permits.
