Bus Detours Due to A418 Road Closures

11th July 2024

Bus travellers have been advised to add extra time to their travel plans this weekend as the A418 Oxford Road closes for HS2 works between Thame and Aylesbury.

The weekend road closure is scheduled from Friday 12 July at 8.30pm until 5.30am on Monday 15 July.

The Redline Bus Company reports the X20 will divert through Princes Risborough in both directions. It will serve Aylesbury College and then divert via Southcourt, Stoke Mandeville, Princes Risborough, and Thame, and then follow its normal service. Only stops in Hartwell and Stone will be affected by the diversion.

Passengers who usually wait at the Churchill Ave stop on Oxford Road will need to wait at “The Priory” stop to catch the bus.

Arriva Buses report the X7 will also be diverted to accommodate the road closure, with no stops scheduled in Stone.

The HS2 Community Engagement Team say additional road closures have been scheduled for:
Friday 26 July 8:30pm – Sunday 28 July 6pm
Friday 9 August 8:30pm – Monday 12 August 5:30am (Contingency weekend)
