A Thame-headquartered online house-moving platform has confirmed it is in early discussions regarding a takeover.
Smoove is behind cloud-based platforms that provide leverage for growth with established client bases and routes to market - including mortgage brokers, conveyancers, estate agents and lenders.
These include eConveyancer and DigitalMove.
In a statement, the board of Smoove said it had noted recent press speculation and confirmed that it is in "early discussions with PEXA Group Ltd regarding a possible cash offer for the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of the company".
"Discussions with PEXA remain at an early stage," it said. "Accordingly, there can be no certainty that an offer will be made for the company, nor as to the terms on which an offer may be made."
Initially, the board also confirmed that it was considering an alternative potential transaction proposed to it by a separate third party.
However, in a seperate update, Smoove noted that following disclosure of the possible offer, the third party is "discontinuing discussions in relation to this alternative potential transaction".
Panmure Gordon is Smoove's NOMAD and broker.
