A mixed weekend for Thame United Sides

An afternoon to forget for Thame United first team as they travelled to play Real Bedford, in the Pitching In Southern League Central Division On eand suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of the newly promoted side. Bedford scored three early goals, before Thame pulled one back just after the break, but in trying to push forward were picked off by the home side conceding another four goals before Tom McElroy got his second. Thame going down 7 – 2.

It was a disappointing day for Thame United Reserves who bowed out of the Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup at the hands of Hellenic League Division Two Central side Headington Amateurs, losing by 5 – 2.

In the Aylesbury and District league it was second vs forth in Division Two as Thame United B took on Rivets Sports at Meadow View Park, The home side coming away with a comfortable 5 – 0 victory, with goals from Ricky Blake, Ben Pynegar and Kareem Suliaman scoring the Thame goals. The win keeps the side in second place on goal difference behind Oving FC. In Division 2 Thame United C travelled to Play Rivets Sports Reserves, and came away on the losing side going down by 3 – 0.

On Sunday Thame United Over 50’s were back in action in the Oxfordshire Veterans League, with the visit of Goring United GOB to Meadow View Park, a fixture with two unbeaten sides saw the home side come out on top with a 5 – 2 victory.

It was another good afternoon for Thame United Women in Oxfordshire County Cup with the visit of North Leigh Ladies to Meadow View Park, Thame coming out on top and progressing to the next round with a 2 – 1 victory, goals from Amelia Newman and Chloe Simmonds were enough to see the unbeaten Thame side progress to the next round.
