Thame United 0 - 1 Welwyn Garden City
In the Pitching In Southern League Central Division One Thame United First Team welcomed Welwyn Garden City at the ASM Stadium, the visitors took an early lead on 11 minutes when a cross from the left was swept in at the front post. Despite almost constant pressure for the remaining 80 minutes the home side created few chances and when they did the finishing wasn’t good enough and ended up losing by a single goal.
Kennington Athletic 0-1 Thame United Reserves
In the Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division Thame United Reserve continued their impressive start to the season. A tough away fixture for Thame Reserves, as they faced Kennington who finished 3rd last year in the Oxford Senior League. Kennington are also notoriously strong at home. Despite a shuffled side, Thame matched a very physical side and created the better opportunities in the first half. The breakthrough came on the 70 minute mark when top scorer Lewis Cross scored his fourth goal in three games. This one was a free kick from the right of the 18 yard box, which beat the keeper at the near post. Kennington were a strong side, but were limited to no shots on goal in the second half. Thame therefore saw the game out and make it three wins out of three, remaining top of the league. The win continues Thame 100% record and sit top of the table on 9 points
Thame United B 1-2 Aylesbury Hearts
In the Aylesbury and District League Division One, Thame United B team suffered a home defeat to Aylesbury Hearts, A Bukunmi Maxwell goal put Thame in the lead, the 16 year old scoring his first goal in senior football. Unfortunately two goals from Aylesbury Hearts gave them a late lead, which Thame couldn’t claw back despite chances and pressure. The early season table sees the side in fifth place on 3 points.
Aylesbury Hornets Reserves 2-1 Thame United C
In Division Two Thame United C went down away to Aylesbury Hornets Reserves, The Hornets took an early lead, Stephen Perry managed to equalise for Thame after going into the break a goal down. However a quick second half goal from Hornets was enough to hold on for the three points.
Thame United Women 4 - 0 Kinsclere Ladies
In Division Two of the Thames Valley League Thame United Women had a home fixture against Kingsclere Ladies, running out 4 - 0 winners with two goals from Shona Reid Evans and one a piece from Jo Taylor and Emma Potts as the side continue their good start to the season, sitting in top spot with 100% winning record
Thame United Over 50s 3 - 2 Hazelmere Sports Athetic
Thame United continued their winning start to the season, in the Oxfordshire Veterans League in a close match running out 3 - 2 winners maintaining their 100% winning start.
