On Tuesday 18 August, Thame’s Mayor, Cllr Andy Gilbert and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Andy Wainwright accompanied our local MP for Henley & Thame, Freddie van Mierlo on his visit to Thame. The day started at The Memories Café where they met local residents and their carers, followed by a walk through the market which was holding its annual Community Market Day.
The next stop was Thame Senior Friendship Centre, where they joined residents enjoying a day of entertainment and lunch.
Following this they headed up to the Rugby Club where they were given a tour of Thame Shed and met with several of its members who showcased their range of skills. MP Freddie Van Mierlo was also presented with a handmade wooden bowl and plaque.
Members of Thame Shed are currently refurbishing the brass plaque and wooden noticeboard that usually sit either side of the front door of the Town Hall, so keep an eye out for their return in the next few days!
