The Lighthouse Counselling

The Lighthouse Counselling is run by Emily Arlidge, a counsellor based locally in Thame with a focus on stress management.

Stress

I can help you to soothe the stress in your life, help you take back control, have mental clarity and stop your mind from constantly racing. I realise that stress can come from many angles of life, relationships, children, being busy, rushing here and there, loss or change.

I have an interest in the link between the mind and the body and therefore the counselling does not have to focus purely on thoughts, feelings and emotions, but how you feel within your body as well. Stress impacts upon the body in various ways, it is a great tool the body has but it is only meant to be for short periods of time. A build up of stress over a long time can lead to burnout.

Other benefits of counselling

Counselling itself has many benefits as well as just the reduction of stress, it can increase your confidence, enable you to make decisions you have been struggling with or to just offload and empty your mind, if that’s what is needed.

Location

I work in Chinnor within The Village Centre and also am still offering online sessions if that would be preferable.

I am looking into the option to work face to face in Thame as well as Chinnor.

Sessions

Sessions are 50 minutes long and for online counselling you would require an internet connection and a safe, quiet space to talk.

The investment in yourself is £50 per session

Join River Thame Conservation Trust on Sunday, 16 August, from 10 am to 1 pm at The Old Fisherman in Shabbington (near Thame) to sketch the River Thame. We'll spend the morning looking closely at the river through drawing, painting and sketching. It's a chance to really get to know this stretch of the river, so it doesn't matter whether you paint every day or haven't picked up a crayon since primary school. Help and guidance will be available if you'd like it, and we'll finish by sharing our work together at 1 pm. You're welcome to stay afterwards and have lunch at the pub if you'd like…

Death Cafe @ Thame Barns Centre
You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
