The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dead rottweiler with plastic wrapped around his body was found on a popular dog walking route in Oxfordshire.
The sad discovery was made at around 8.30am on Monday (11 September) on a walking track in Upper Icknield Way, Chinnor. The dog had black plastic tied around his stomach which appeared to have been used to drag him.
RSPCA inspector Prisca Giddens, who is investigating, said: “The dog has no visible injuries and didn’t appear to be neglected, nor is there any obvious cause of death - so we are keen to find out how and why this dog came to be dumped.
“The dog was microchipped but the chip had been implanted in Romania, and therefore we’re unable to access the details. The only distinguishing feature the dog had is a docked tail.
“Anyone who has any information about this poor dog is urged to contact us on 0300 123 8018, quoting reference 01150885.”
