8th June 2026

Into June now, and with it a lot of rain! The 1st XI were flying away at Ickenham, after being put into bat. Devane Warner smashed an incredible 121 off 73 balls, including 8 sixes, supported by Farid Butt (53 off 31) and Alex Browne (33 0ff 23), before the rain cut short the fun on 265-5 at the 30 over mark. Placed 9th, the 1s host 2nd Datchet next.

The 2nd XI welcomed Buckingham Town 2 to Church Meadow. Batting first, George Patey (29) and Rob Johnson (22*) shared a 50 opening stand, when the rain won at 75-1. In 5th place, the team go to 6th Horspath 3 next.

Thame 3rds were away at Frieth 2. Bowling first, Frieth reached 48-0 off just 2.5 overs before rain ended proceedings. The 3s are 8th and host 9th Risinghirst 2 next.

At Lord Williams’ School, the 4th XI took on Chesterton & Wendlebury 2. The 4s were 39-2 when the match was abandoned. Still top, the team go to 4th Gully 2 next.

On Sunday, we did get a full game of cricket! Thame Women travelled to Moreton and opted to bowl. A very strong Moreton side showed their muscle, Ingram and Abel both scored centuries as the hosts posted a mammoth 349-5 – Aiza Khan took 2-64. Thame were then skittled for just 52. A trip to leaders Charlbury is next for the 7th-placed Women.

You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
