Vaccines news from the Rycote Practice

Nearly 3500 patients of the Rycote Practice have now had their seasonal flu vaccination and a further 2300 have had their Covid booster. We have now received further flu vaccines and Covid Pfizer vaccines and are looking to offering the jabs to the remaining eligible patients. We want to prioritise the remaining patients over the age of 65 and those with conditions that place you at increased risk of serious illness but we are also taking bookings for patients over the age of 50. Please note that we are unable to offer the Covid booster until 6 months after your second dose.
We have clinics on Saturday 13 November (morning), Thursday 18 November (afternoon) and Saturday 20 November (morning). Please call the practice to book your appointment if you have not yet done so – you can use the main number or leave a message on 01844 267935. Details of further appointments will be released once we have confirmation of our final vaccine deliveries which are expected at the end of November.

We are also offering nasal flu vaccinations to 2 and 3 year olds as well as other children under the age of 18 who are clinically at risk. Please note that school age children from reception class to year 11 will be offered nasal flu vaccinations at school – we are unable to vaccinate these age groups in the practice.
We would strongly encourage patients to have both the seasonal flu vaccination and the Covid booster as respiratory illnesses are very prevalent in the winter months. However if you do not wish to receive either of these vaccines please let us know so that we can mark you as declined and focus on contacting patients that do.
Thank you for your ongoing support and patience while we complete this mammoth task.
