We are delighted that we can now offer the Pfizer Biontech vaccine at The Rycote Practice. We successfully held our first Pfizer clinic in Thame on Wednesday 9 June and plan to hold a further Pfizer clinic next Wednesday 16 June between 15:30 and 18:00. We are currently offering the vaccine to all patients over the age of 25. If you are over 25 and would like the vaccine please book via the link we have sent to your mobile or call the practice. If you have not been contacted by us please ensure that we have your mobile number so that it is easy for us to send you a link to book in the future. We are awaiting details of future vaccine supplies but we expect to be able to offer the vaccine to all patients over the age of 18 very soon. We will also be offering a second Oxford AstraZeneca dose in the coming fortnight to patients who received their first dose in April.
Please note that the Pfizer Biontech vaccine requires you to be observed for 15 minutes after the vaccination. This can mean a large number of cars in the car park so we respectfully ask you not to drive to your vaccination appointment if you have another means of getting to the surgery. We would also remind you to arrive at your appointment time (not early or late) and wear a mask and short sleeved clothing to ensure the process is as safe and efficient as possible.
We are trying to offer appointment times that are more suitable for younger people who are working. However, if you are unable to make appointment times at The Rycote Practice, you can also book appointments at other vaccination sites via https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or by calling 119. We strongly encourage our patients to get the vaccine as soon as it is offered.
Thank you for your ongoing patience and support. Please continue to behave responsibly while we vaccinate the remainder of the population. Locally, cases of Covid-19 are starting to rise and you are not fully protected by the vaccine until you have received your second dose. Stay safe. Protect the NHS . Save lives.
