A big thank you to everyone in the local community who responded to our appeal for Christmas food items as well as regular items, to include in food parcels during December. So many gave very generously and we are very grateful.
As anticipated we were extremely busy in the run up to Christmas, with the demand for food parcels rising by 77% in comparison with November. Here are the complete figures for the two months:
November
56 food parcels were provided.
These supported 76 adults and 64 children.
82% of these households were referred to us by one of our partner agencies.
December
99 food parcels were provided.
These supported 136 adults and 142 children.
85% of these households were referred to us by one of our partner agencies.
