Upcoming Community Events in Thame: What to Look Forward To This Summer

Summer in Thame is set to bring a wonderful mix of events that invite locals and visitors alike to come together and enjoy what the town has to offer. From vibrant markets to lively festivals, the season promises plenty of reasons to explore and connect with the community. Whether you’re after an evening of music or a relaxed afternoon by the river, Thame has something for everyone.

Alongside these local gatherings, some residents also enjoy leisure activities beyond the town’s events. For example, online entertainment platforms such as non-GamStop casinos provide a different kind of experience for those seeking something from the comfort of home. These sites offer a wide variety of games and allow players more freedom to choose how and when they play. It’s an option some locals turn to during quieter moments or in between attending the town’s busy social calendar.

Not to be missed are the Thame Lunchtime Concerts. This series of free lunchtime concerts, occurring on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 12:30  to 1:15 pm at St Mary's church, highlights music from local musicians in a beautiful setting. Visitors can also bring their lunch, if they wish. There will be a retiring collection in aid of the church and other local charities.

The UB40 Tribute Night – Rum & Reggae Party at The Spread Eagle Hotel in Thame is scheduled for Friday, 11th July 2025, from 6:30 PM to 12:00 AM. This event is set to feature a performance by Labour of Love 2, an acclaimed UB40 tribute band known for their authentic renditions of classic hits like “Red Red Wine” and “Kingston Town”, live music, and food stalls.

Art lovers won’t be left out either. Several pop-up galleries and exhibitions will showcase local talent throughout the summer. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet artists and explore a diverse range of creative works, thereby adding a cultural dimension to the season’s activities.

The Thame September Street Fair is a cherished annual tradition that transforms Thame's High Street into a vibrant carnival. Held every September, it offers a delightful mix of fairground rides, games, food stalls, and family-friendly entertainment starting from Thursday, 18 September to Saturday, 20 September 2025. Businesses with off-street parking can apply for temporary access permits at the Information Centre.

For those who prefer a slower pace, the town’s parks and green spaces offer guided walks, outdoor yoga sessions, and plenty of spots to sit and unwind. Summer afternoons spent reading or picnicking in these peaceful surroundings are a favourite pastime for many.

Keep an eye out for smaller, surprise events that often pop up in Thame during the warmer months. From open mic nights to craft fairs, these spontaneous gatherings add to the town’s friendly atmosphere and provide new ways to connect with neighbours.

With so many options, summer in Thame is sure to be memorable. Whether you’re enjoying the street fair, exploring markets, or simply soaking up the sunshine in a park, there’s something on offer to suit every interest and mood.
