A national newspaper has reported that three pupils from Lord William’s School in Thame, were taken to hospital after ingesting diluted copper sulphate taken from a science laboratory.
The incident occurred last week and involved a student and several classmates who are understood to have added the chemical to their water bottles after becoming drawn to its colour following a lesson. Thames Valley Police were notified and are supporting the school’s inquiries.
Headteacher Neil Dimbleby said on Monday that the three children remained in hospital overnight but have since been discharged. “We are pleased to report that the students are all now safely at home,” he said.
