This week's vaccine update from Rycote

The Rycote Practice has now given a first Covid-19 vaccination dose to the vast majority of patients over the age of 50. If you are over 50 and have not yet had your first dose, please contact the practice so that we can book an appointment for you. If we are not offering clinics at times that suit you may be able to book an appointment at another vaccination site by visiting https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

Next week (commencing 5 April) we will be holding further vaccination clinics on Wednesday 7 and Friday 9 April. We will be offering some first dose Oxford AstraZeneca vaccinations during these clinics as well as second doses to all remaining patients who received their first dose in January. When attending your vaccination appointment please arrive as close as possible to the time of your appointment, wear a mask and short sleeved clothing so that we can ensure you are vaccinated promptly.

We continue to be on track to vaccinate all patients in Cohorts 1-9 (Over 50s and those with underlying health conditions) by the middle of April. The practice will remain responsible for ensuring that all patients vaccinated by us receive their second dose in the coming months – normally 11 weeks after the first. Thame Primary Care Network has also committed to offer the Covid-19 vaccine to cohorts 10-12 (those under the age of 50). We will provide more detail on this once we have been granted permission to commence vaccination of these age groups.

The news that two households or up to 6 people can meet outside from 29th March is welcomed by us all. Please do however continue to wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene and observe social distancing to ensure that the infection rate remains low while we continue the vaccination programme. Stay safe. Protect the NHS. Save Lives.
