| Tackling dwelling burglary remains a priority for Thames Valley Police. We fully recognise the traumatic effect that these offences can have on victims and the impact on the wider community. Operation Monitor commenced on the 1st of June and is South and Vales response to this type of crime, for the next four months there will be a dedicated team based at Abingdon Police station with a focus on burglary. The team consists of two Detective Sgts, five Detective Constables and five Police Constables. They are divided into teams that cover each of the geographic areas on the police area. They aim to attend all reports of domestic burglary and work alongside our local Neighbourhood Teams and CSI unit to ensure a high quality investigation into each offence. All reports of burglary to a dwelling will be investigated by detectives from this team. Op Monitor will also target known offenders to disrupt their activity and work with our partners to seek to divert them from this type of offending.
