Ukrainian families who now live in Thame and neighbouring villages set off by coach on 17th August 2022 for a day out in Cotswold Wildlife Park. The trip was organised by Rotary Phoenix with support from Lightfoots, Lucy Electric, Field Sales Solutions, Richardsons and Waitrose who generously contributed towards the trip costs. Rotary Phoenix would like to thank all for the support.
Some Ukrainians carried their country’s flag and others were wearing national costumes. A total of 47 Ukrainians boarded the coach which set off near Thame Town Hall at 10.00. Thame's Mayor, Cllr Paul Cowell, wished them all a great day.
As everyone disembarked from the coach, on their return, there was lots of excitement with the Ukrainians thanking the Rotarians with handshakes and hugs. One lady said the day had been “Absolutely awesome”. All gathered again outside the Town Hall for a casual farewell photograph and goodbyes were given.
Clearly everyone had a “roaring” time.

Rotary Phoenix Thame and District has changed. It transformed itself into a progressive, project-based, local community club, with multi-generational appeal, from the age of 18 till the young at heart.
New members are more than welcome to join and bring new project ideas.
