You said… we did
- Vehicles obstructing the pavements in Chinnor – we have liaised with the owners of these vehicles and given them suitable advice. PCSOs will continue to monitor this and issue fixed penalty notice tickets when obstructions of the footpath take place.
- Rural Crime and Ilegal Poaching on Land – PCSO Dollery located two males illegally poaching game on land near Chiselhampton on 14 September. His good work secured the arrest of two males, seizure of their vehicle and their dogs. This type of crime causes substantial damage to land and crops.
Consider your parking in case of an emergency
We ask that all members of the local community consider the manner in which they park their vehicles along narrow residential roads. When parking your vehicle, consider these scenarios; If there was a fire, would a fire engine be able to easily travel along the residential road to get the people in need of help? If there was an incident and the police were called, would the police be able to easy access the roads? If an ambulance is called to save a life, can they get to the property at the bottom of your road? For everyone’s safety, please consider this when parking your vehicle on the residential roads in your towns and villages.
Kiln Lakes, Chinnor (the old quarry site)
The police have been called to various incidents at the old Quarry site, Kiln Lakes in Chinnor with reports of people walking around the lakes and young people swimming in the water. On social media recently there has been a suggestion that this is a good place to walk a dog. This is NOT advised and the team would like to make it very clear that the disused quarry is unsafe and a dangerous place to enter and swim. The lakes are private property and anyone entering the area is trespassing on private land. Please do not use this area for your own safety.
Emergency Services Day
On 25 September Thames Valley Police (Thame NHPT), South Central Ambulance Service, Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue and the Search & Rescue team held a family fun Emergency Services Day at Southern Road recreation ground in Thame. It was a great turn out despite the wet weather with around 300 people attending. It was a good opportunity for the community and children to learn about the different roles. The ambulance service were able to educate people on CPR, Thames Valley Police were on hand with crime prevention advice and leaflets, and the fire service educated people on fire hazards and information on what to do in case of a fire breaking out.
We are planning to do some more “Community Crime Prevention” days, going out into the villages with crime prevention advice and leaflets. More details will be released when the locations and dates are finalised.
Halloween – Trick or Treat?
It is nearly that time of year when the ghosts and ghouls come out to play for Halloween. We know that some people enjoy this time of year and are happy for visitors to ‘Trick or Treat’ but there are some people who would rather not be disturbed. If you would like to get a copy of a “No Trick or Treat” notice, please speak to any of the neighbourhood team at any of the ‘Have Your Say’ times listed below.
