Thame will proudly commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a community sing-along event at sunset on 8 May 2025, celebrating peace, resilience, and remembrance.
The event will take place at the Southern Road Recreation Ground from 6:30 PM, featuring performances from the Thame Concert Band, Ian English, Ross Hardman, Philippa Mummery, and more. Also participating are the Thame Air & Army Cadets and St Mary’s Bell Ringers, ensuring a deeply heartfelt and memorable evening.
The celebration will culminate with a beacon lighting at 9:30 PM, a symbolic tribute shared across the UK to honor those who served and sacrificed during WWII.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a rug, chair, and torch, and to come together as a community to mark this significant milestone in British history.
