Thame Swimathon 2017 - introducing the teams. Today: Team Ice Cream

20 teams have booked all available slots at Thame Swimathon 2017. Any new team entry form will now be put on hold onto a waiting list. The 5th edition of the Thame Swimathon will take place at the Thame Leisure Centre on Sunday 26 February 2017, from 11:00 till 15:00. This is a fun and fundraising event organised by the Rotary Club of Thame. The event is possible due to generous local sponsors who kindly covered most of the costs: Thame Leisure Centre, Park Street Dental Clinic, Aston Hearing, Booker Tate, and Ignite Sport.

Most of the teams have taken the option to allocate 50% of the money raised towards their favourite cause, and 50% towards Thame Rotary’s local charities: Red Kite Children’s Centre, Wheel Power, and Hope and Homes for Children.

One of the swimming groups is Team Ice Cream, a group of children from John Hampden School Thame, who decided to take part in the event in memory of their school mate, Barnaby Cork. Half of the money raised by them will go towards Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

Two of the girls, said, in their own words, on behalf of the team: “We are really excited to do this Swimathon, we are supporting Thames Valley Air Ambulance because they work very hard to save lives.”
