Oxfordshire County Council’s Library Service has begun its search for the county’s best short story-writers for 2017 with separate categories for ‘adults’ and ‘young adults’ and the winning entries published as eBooks for library members to borrow.
Aspiring authors across Oxfordshire are being urged to enter the popular annual competition, with separate categories for ‘adults’ and ‘young adults’.
The lucky winners, who will be announced in March, will get to see their entries published as an eBook and available via the library website, to be borrowed and read across the county.
The council’s Cabinet Member for Cultural Services Lorraine Lindsay-Gale said: “Previous winners have been some of the most borrowed eBooks in our collection so this is a great chance to get your unique writing voice heard, and could be an inspiring first step for new writers of all ages.”
Allie Thomlinson, Library Manager at Thame library said: “Our eBook service is popular and getting a really good profile at the moment, as more people are discovering the range of stories available. I would like to encourage people in Thame to enter the competition and we can help them celebrate if they win!”
The deadline for entries is 4 January 2017. Full terms and conditions as well as instructions on how to submit your entries can be found here
