Thame is gearing up to welcome visitors from around the world as Thame Museum hosts another special weekend for Robin Gibb fans from Friday 4 – 6 October. The weekend will focus around three key events: Friday 4 October: A wine-tasting with a difference! The museum team and renowned vintners, Ellis Wines will host a tasting at the museum with great music and wonderful wines – all with a link to the Bee Gees. Saturday 5 October: Accomplished poet, Dwina Gibb, will present a candle-lit evening of poetry and prose with music performed by the distinguished award-winning harpist, Becki Luff. Dwina is an artist, author, poet, playwright and a patron of Thame Museum. She has published three volumes of poetry, two novels, and a new Vedic Tarot Book & Cards – due out in November. Dwina is fascinated by Irish history and mythology and true to her Irish roots, she is a wonderful raconteur. Sunday 6 October: Aspecial screening of Saturday Night Fever at the Players Theatre Thame. An opportunity for fans to enjoy the classic 70s film in a cinema setting. Tickets and full details of the weekend are available on the Museum’s website. Robin Gibb lived in Thame from 1985 until his death in 2012. He is buried in St Mary’s Churchyard opposite his former home. Each year hundreds of fans visit the graveside to pay their respects on the anniversary of his death. |
