Thame Games Club: Discover the Local Gaming Community

Thame is a beautiful little market town in the heart of Oxfordshire, located 7 miles southwest of Aylesbury and around 9 miles east of Oxford. A lot is going on in this town that attracts visitors all year round, from the farmers market held fortnightly to the range of exciting family-run establishments dotted along the main high street. If you are moving to this fantastic little town and want to join clubs to meet the locals, you should check out the Thame Games Club. Whether you are someone who has a passion for board games or just want to get involved with the local community, the Thame Games Club is the perfect place to have some fun while making new friends.

What Games are Played at the Club?

There is a wide range of games you can play at the Thame Games Club, including deck-building card games, role-playing games, 40K, war games, and board games. Plus, it doesn’t matter if you have never played any of the games before; the members will be happy to get you up to speed so you can join in with the fun as well. Not only can you play many different types of games with the members of the club, but you can also talk about specific games you have a passion for, whether that is games found on online slots UK is popular for or popular multiplayer online role-playing games.

Where Is the Thame Games Club Held?

The Thame Game Club was established back in 2017 and was initially held in the Cross Keys before moving to The James Figg two years later. Nowadays, the Thame Games Club is held in the Thame Snooker Club function room in the cricket club. The club takes place once a month, so you don’t have to commit a vast amount of time to come along and see what the club has to offer. The members are always happy to welcome new faces and continue to grow the size of the club. What’s even better is that you don’t have to be from Thame to join the club, which means anyone is welcome to participate in the fun.

Interested in coming to one of the gaming sessions? Why not head to the Thame Town Cricket Club for their next meeting? The Thame Games Club meets every 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:15 p.m. and finishes at 10:45 p.m. The next session will be held on the 14th of November, where you can expect an evening enjoying a range of fantastic games. If there is a specific game that you want to play and you are wondering if it will be there, you can always bring it along and teach everyone how to play it. You can sign up for the following games night held by the Thame Games Club on their website so the club committee can get an idea of how many people will attend.

How Many Members Does the Club Have?

Ever since its creation back in 2017, the Thames Games Club has continued to grow each year and currently has almost 200 members. The age range of the members varies significantly from those in their early 20s up to those over the age of 50. This means you should have no trouble with people that are a similar age that you can get on with. One thing that everyone at the club has in common is a passion for games, so you will be able to spark up a discussion and make friends with ease. Everyone is sociable and keen to include new members in the club and make them feel welcome.

Tabletop Teach

Learning new games can sometimes be quite confusing and daunting, which is why the Thame Games Club have launched Tabletop Teach. This is a session the Club runs where members teach others how to play different games. This is fantastic for new people who want to become part of the community but don’t know how to play some of the popular games played at the club. There is a vast range of games from various genres that have varying degrees of difficulty, from complex RPGs to more simple board games; however, if you are interested in learning how to play any one of them, then the experienced members will be happy to show you how it works during the Tabletop Teach session.

The Thame Games Club is the perfect place to share your passion for gaming and get to know some of the locals who are equally enthusiastic about this shared hobby. If you have any questions about the club, don’t hesitate to get in contact with them through their website. They welcome new members and their questions!
