Thame Foodbank Update

Sharing Life Trust, who run Thame Foodbank and Community Larder, have seen a significant increase (21%) in demand for the foodbank from May into June. As we are out of the heating season and therefore energy costs are less of a factor at this time of year, it is concerning that there has already been this increased level of demand; something they would not normally expect until the autumn.

Can you help?

  1. If you like to give food donations to the foodbank using the supermarket collection points, please download the foodbank app on to your smartphone to ensure that you are donating the most needed items. They have run out of a number of basic foods recently and had to buy them for the store. The App is available for both Android and Apple devices.
  2. With increasing demand they would like to recruit more volunteers, particularly to help with food parcel deliveries. If this is something you would like to do please visit the Sharing Life Trust website and send a message using the form you will find there.
