The Thame Food Festival weekend is packed full of goodies

A myriad of exciting things are planned for the Thame Food Festival weekend on the 30th September and 1st October.

As part of the British Food Fortnight, this year’s event will see over 180 artisan producers showcasing their delicious wares, alongside demonstrations from many of the country’s leading chefs and bakers. The new location at Thame Showground and extending the event over two days means there is more opportunity to add even more attractions than before.

To give you a flavour of the delights on offer, there will be…

o   Botanical Gin Garden which will celebrate the nation’s latest favourite tipple whether an old favourite or something different infused with flavour and imagination

o   Pop Up Pub with local craft lager on tap or craft beers from one of our hand-picked award winning beers from local independent brewers hosted by @FestivAles

  • Pop Up Restaurant by @theMilkshed from Weston on the Green

The main demonstration stage, sponsored by Magimix, will feature over 20 live demonstrations from high profile celebrities:

o   CHEFS DAY - the first day (Saturday) will be dedicated to chefs with a number of demonstration from many leading chefs including MasterChef Winner Shelina Permalloo, Richard Bertinet and Benoit Blin

o   BAKERS DAY - the second day (Sunday) is focused on bakers featuring a number of high profile Great British Bake Off competitors such as Jane Beedle, Jane Devonshire, Chetna Makan and Paul Jagger

All this is for just £5 for an adult and free for children under 16. As Lotte Duncan, Patron and organiser of the event says, “We can’t quite believe the time has come to open our doors. We are so excited to see everything we have planned over the last year come to fruition. It will be very different from any of the other food festivals we have done before.”

Death Cafe @ Thame Barns Centre
You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
