HollandGreen Architecture, Interiors & Landscapes has won a top accolade in the BUILD Awards 2020, which recognises outstanding work across the design, property and construction industries.
Entries were judged on technical expertise, dedication to client service and commitment to quality and innovation, with winners selected by peers and industry professionals.
The award comes as the Oxfordshire Studio-based business celebrates their 10th anniversary this year. HollandGreen has grown from founders Ben Holland and Stephen Green starting out from a converted garden shed, to a thriving 35-member team. Their expansion has seen a move into
Interior Design and Landscape Design alongside their Architectural practice, and during 2020 they have continued to grow rapidly, taking on more staff.
Currently the team is home-based, with the Studio being used for socially-distanced client and team meetings. The transition to home working has been smooth, as HollandGreen has worked in a digital way for some time, particularly with their international clients.
Co-founder Stephen Green said, “We are thrilled to have won this Award, which is a testament to the creativity and innovation of our team of architects, designers and planners. Right from the beginning we have placed the highest emphasis on giving the best experience to our clients
throughout their projects. We listen to people to understand their lifestyles and create living spaces that work for them. I think the judges particularly picked up on this.”
Co-founder Ben Holland said, “The BUILD Awards look for innovation and collaboration, and the role of technology in our practice is key to both. For example, we use 360 degree cameras to help us record the development journey and we produce digital 3D and Virtual Reality models, so our
clients can ‘walk around’ their homes and input into the designs right from the start.”
He went on: “Over the past few years we’ve seen a significant increase in projects where sustainability has been a really important area for our clients – across the design of their homes and through the build process by using environmentally-friendly and recycled materials where possible.”
One of their sustainably-led bespoke homes, Ash House, was a finalist in the Large House of the Year at the British Homes Awards 2020 earlier this month.
HollandGreen Associate Director Alain Torri said, “We want to lead with sustainability across all our projects. There are some incredible emerging technologies that enable sustainability to underpin beautiful design, and we are delighted that so many of our clients want to build their living
spaces in an environmentally-friendly way.
