Tetsworth Primary School narrowly missed out on a medal in the Oxfordshire School Games Years 3-4 Mixed Small School’s County Final yesterday.
The Oxfordshire School Games final was held at St. Helen’s and St Katharine’s Secondary School in Abingdon, and Testworth followed up their success in the Oxford City and Thame District finals last month, with a well-deserved fourth placed finish.
Testworth played 8 games in total, winning three, drawing three and losing two. This meant that they missed out on a medal position by just two points.
The children’s Teacher, Jamie Surman, commented "I'm extremely proud of what the children have achieved, they are a credit to Tetsworth Primary. To be a Large School you have to have more than 120 children, at Tetsworth there are only 65 children. We entered two large school events and came 1st in one and 3rd in the other. We opted for the Small School's County Final and were the smallest school there, so to come 4th in the whole county is a massive achievement and one the children, their parents and the school can be proud of for a long time."
The result means that Tetsworth finish the school year as:
- The best Year 3-4 large mixed football team in the Thame District
- 3rd best large School in Oxford City and Thame District
- 4th best small School in the whole of Oxfordshire
